This is an exciting opportunity to join at our successful Christian school staff team. The King’s School has operated for over 30 years providing high quality Early Years, Primary and Secondary education. Currently the roll is 212 pupils.

We are looking for a part-time Games and After-School Club Assistant, working with our primary and secondary pupils. There may be additional ways to contribute to other areas of school life, for which renumeration may be available
The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner, flexible, and servant-hearted. The candidate will be able to build upon the successes of the past, maintaining the distinctive quality and tone of the school, and will be able to work as part of a strong staff team in line with the vision of Oxfordshire Community Churches. It is therefore a genuine and determining occupational requirement that the job-holder must be a committed Christian willing to work with others in the context of OCC’s ethos statement.

Expected Roles
• To assist in the delivery of Games lessons to secondary pupils
• To assist in the development of pupils’ sportsmanship skills, performance and abilities in a range of individual and team sports
• To maintain a high standard of pupil behaviour and involvement in Games
• To help maintain Games equipment
• To assist in the delivery of our After-School Sports Club to children from years 1-7

This role may be divided into two separate posts (6 hours Games Assistant and 7.5 hours After-School Assistant) for the right candidates, at the discretion of the school.

As the after-school club is a pilot project, please note that this element of the post is temporary for 12 months, with a view to amending the contract to a permanent position at the end of this period. At this point, hours may vary.

It is desirable for the successful applicant to hold a D1 (minibus) driving qualification, although this is not essential. You will be required to attend first aid training every three years.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including DBS checks. If you have a disability and require any reasonable adjustments that will enable you to apply for this position, then please let us know.
