The CST are pleased to announce their brand new Teacher Training course entitled The Essential Christian Teacher which was launched in Septmeber 2013 in the North. The teaching course for the South was lauched last September 2014.
The Core Team have long recognised the importance of supporting and developing teachers in member schools and we are very pleased to present a new opportunity to develop staff, addressing the needs of our schools, now.
The Essential Christian Teacher, aims to help teachers define what it means to be a genuinely Christian practitioner in the community of a Christian school of the type that are members of the Christian Schools’ Trust.
Teachers on the course do not have to be a qualified teacher, but will need the opportunity to apply what they learn in their classrooms on a regular basis. If you have a teaching degree and experience, then this course will refine your practice; If you are new, young or an inexperienced teacher, then this course will help lay vital foundations in your understanding and practice.
The first year of the course will help teachers focus on key aspects of their own development as an individual; the second year will focus on their contributing to a Christian learning community.
We are also offering a component to the course for established teachers who hold posts of responsibility or who aspire to leadership in our schools. This component is offered at a time when the pioneering leaders of a lot of our schools are coming to the end of their time of influence in our schools. It is vital that the next set of school leaders are identified, equipped and commissioned to lead schools into the future.
The course requires teachers to be released from their schools for five days a year, over two years.
